CalFem is operated by Veyare. We built CalFem to be private and to keep the information we handle to what's needed to run your tracking. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information you provide

To create your account and personalize your targets, we handle:

  • Account details. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an email address and a first name to identify your account.
  • Onboarding answers. The details you choose when setting up your plan — such as your goal, age range, and cycle information — used only to tailor your daily calorie and macro targets.
  • Meals & tracking data. Photos you log, the calorie and macro estimates produced from them, your logging history, and cycle entries, so your plan adapts and stays in sync.
  • Feedback. If you contact us or send feedback, we keep your message so we can help.

Health data

CalFem accesses, collects, and uses health and fitness data to run your tracking. This is what we handle and why:

  • Health & fitness data from your device. If — and only if — you grant permission, CalFem reads your step count and active energy burned from Health Connect on Android, and your step count, active energy burned, and body weight from Apple Health on iOS. We use these to show your daily activity and to adjust your calorie target for the energy you've burned. This data is read on your device, shown to you in the app, and is never uploaded to our servers, never shared with anyone, and never used for advertising. CalFem only reads this data — it never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect. You can revoke the permission at any time in your device's health settings, and CalFem keeps working without it.
  • Health data you enter in the app. Your menstrual cycle dates and phase, weight and height, age range, activity level, dietary preferences, and the meals you log along with their calorie and macro estimates. We use this to calculate and adapt your daily calorie and macro targets to your cycle, and to show your progress over time. It is stored in your account so it stays in sync across your devices.

We do not sell your health data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising or marketing. We do not use it to make decisions about credit, insurance, or employment. Deleting your account deletes the health data tied to it.

How we use it

We use this information to create and run your account, estimate calories and macros from your meal photos, personalize and adapt your daily targets to your cycle, sync your progress across your devices, respond to support requests, and keep the app working and secure. We don't use your data to show ads.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and by Google through Google Play. We don't receive or store your payment card details — we only receive your subscription status so we can unlock the right features.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, we use notifications to help you stay on track with your daily logging. You can turn these off anytime in your device settings.

How it's shared

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run CalFem — including Apple and Google for sign-in and purchases, an AI provider that processes meal photos to estimate nutrition, and a secure cloud provider that hosts your account and progress on our behalf. They may only process your data to provide these services to us.

Security & retention

Your data is stored on secured servers and kept only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your associated data.

Your choices

You can review or update your details in the app, and you can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us at general@veyare.com. If you delete your account, we remove the information tied to it.

Adults only

CalFem is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top of this page.
